Thank you to everybody who helped to make the 2014 Annual Meeting a wonderful event. We want to say a special thanks to our guest speaker, Dot Perkins who gave so generously of her time, expertise, and humor.
Forty members from around the state met at the Epsom Fire House on October 25. We started out with a pot luck dinner that put any restaurant buffet to shame. Many thanks to Apple Hill Farm in Concord for their donation of delicious apple cider.
We received a report on the success of the 2015 festival -- we had a 14% increase in attendance over the previous year. Our current festival committee is busily preparing for the 2015 festival, which promises to be extraordinary. The Scholarship Committee reported that we are awarding two scholarships to extremely deserving students, and also talked about some of the goals the committee has going forward. A unanimous vote of all members present amended Article 1, Section 2 of the Association By-laws. And last but not least, a new slate of officers and directors was elected.
After the business meeting, Dot Perkins from the UNH Cooperative Extension presented a talk on current research on parasite control, specifically Barber Pole Worm which is now found in NH. Dot will be sharing more information with us, so keep an eye on our website for updates on this topic and others.
Welcome to the New Hampshire Sheep & Wool Growers' Association
The New Hampshire Sheep & Wool Growers' Association Promotes and Supports New Hampshire's Sheep and Wool Industry.
Goal and Objectives of the NHSWGA
To teach sheep management skills, educate the public, and provide a forum for shepherds to meet and exchange ideas. We do this through ongoing workshops, and support of NH's 4-H Leaders and Youth Groups, College Scholarships, and Financial and Physical Support of Events supporting youth and agriculture in the State of New Hampshire.
